Feature: What To Expect On J. Cole's Third Studio Album

Cole has been relatively quiet after the release of his sophomore album Born Sinner which featured the singles "Crooked Smile" and the Miguel assisted "Power Trip". Minus a few features including hopping on Maroon 5's "Animals", J. Cole has yet to release a new single. Nonetheless, the internet has gone crazy with rumors of a third album brewing up the end of the year. Amazon has listed a new J.Cole album set to be released next month titled 2014 Forest Hills Dreams. J. Cole also released a vlog on the project speaking on being a part of a cypher in his hometown.  With a new body of work coming, it has us thinking, what can we expect on J. Cole's third studio album?

More insight into his childhood
2014 Forest Hills Drive is apparently the address to the childhood home of Jermaine, where he grew up with his mother and brother. Cole has a skill for his storytelling and often speaks on his life in his music. His latest projects spoke on his time in college, playing basketball, and past relationships, but this 2014 Forest Hills Drive may dive deeper into his family life and his time growing up in North Carolina.

A well crafted project
Recently a photo was posted on Instagram stated that Juro Davis. long time engineer of J. Cole, was finishing up the final touches on Cole's third studio album. The image has since been deleted, but the fact remains that Cole has worked with Davis on most of his projects from his 2009 The Warm Up to Born Sinner. Earlier this year, Cole had  an interview with Emusician.com, where he spoke on his progression in production and getting into the craft after listening to Biggie's Life After Death, noticing that many of the records were samples of music from artist his mom listened to.
"My next album, I want to make everything analog. In terms of mixing, I can hear the difference when we put things through that SSL board [in Premier Studios]. In terms of instrumentation I’d also like to use analog, but I can’t deny that the quality of these synth plug-ins is pretty amazing."                                                                                                                                          - J. Cole

Minimum features
On his last two projects, Cole had some features from major artists such as Drake and Jay Z on his debut Cole World. His second album featured appearances from 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar. Now, as a full blown vet in the music industry, with many hip hop artist giving him high honors. It could be safe to say, J. Cole will be able to hold this album down entirely on his own. We've all grown to love his dynamic wordplay and catchy metaphors. If anything, he'd more than likely keep in line with adding some legendary artists to his project like that of TLC and Missy Elliot.
