Top Dawg Entertainment’s SZA to Perform at Philadelphia Music Festival-Circus Mashup. Music festival producers, What Scene?, to host "Foxtail Fest," where Top Dawg Entertainment's SZA will headline, and hip-hop/alternative/electronic artists and DJ's A$AP Ant, A$AP Nast, DJ Diamond Kuts, Noah Breakfast, ASAAD, Theodore Grams, DJ SYLO and others, will also perform, at District N9NE (460 N. 9th Street, between Callowhill and Spring Garden Sts.) on Saturday, September, 20.
The day-long mystical forest-themed, music festival, hosted by Cory Townes, will also feature an outdoor fire show, aerial stunts, LED lighting hoops, and acrobatic/contortionist visuals by Mystical Circus Acts, as well as 3D projections of graphic art to go along with the listening experience.
What Scene? combines multi-genres musicians and DJ’s, with digital and classical art, to create one-of-a-kind listening experiences for Philadelphia's emerging experimental, underground art and music scenes.
Brandon Potter, creative director of What Scene?, says, "We're trying to make the music festival/concert experience more than just standing in a room and listening. At Foxtail Fest, and for most of our events, the goal is to create a festival platform for the future sounds coming from underground music, and the variety it has to offer. Then, we up the ante by adding non-traditional concert elements like circus acts at Foxtail, a chicken and waffles bar at Hamsterdam, earlier this year, or even a yacht, to improve the experience. Foxtail Fest, this year, will be a burrow for growing music and creative talent both nationally, and in Philly.”
More than 1,000 are expected to attend Foxtail Fest, this year. A free shuttle bus, departing from Broad Street and Pollet Walk on Temple University’s campus, at 3pm, will be available for festival goers the day of the show.
